I recently photographed the wedding of Karla and Mick at the Great Hallingbury Manor Hotel situated in the heart of Great Hallingbury village in Hertfordshire, very close to the Essex border and just a few miles from Stansted airport.
I have to say I think the Great Hallingbury Hotel is an ideal wedding venue, it’s an elegant boutique style hotel which boasts a small tranquil lake with a bridge which crosses to an island in the middle; it has beautiful lawns and lots of colourful flower beds. A beautiful location for a wedding and for wedding photography.
For those of you that follow my blog you will know that I did a pre wedding photo shoot here with Karla and Mick some months previously.
I started the day by Photographing Karla, who had stayed the previous night in the bridal suite, together with her bridesmaids; we captured some stunning portraits together with detail shots of the wedding dress, jewellery, flowers and shoes.
I then met up with Mick in the main hotel, where I photographed him nervously getting ready followed by detail shots of the ring and then some memorable pictures of him together with his sons.
Following the wedding ceremony, the bride and groom mingled with guests and posed for photographs outside in the glorious sunshine and beautiful gardens.
Karla and Mick were a dream to work with and throughout the day we got some beautiful photographs. I particularly like the natural light portraits taken of them posing on the lawn and the shots of Karla taken on the patio next to the lake. They are a wonderful couple and I wish them lots of luck and happiness in their life together
