What a wonderful opportunity to shoot some mother and son, family portrait photographs in my home village of Gosfield in North Essex.
A couple of day ago I photographed Sarah and her two year old son Oakley, on a beautiful sunny autumnal day, walking and playing in the Gosfield nature reserve.

I was recently commissioned to take some family portrait photographs to mark a 60th Birthday celebration. However not only was it the ‘mums’ birthday celebration it was also a family reunion as it was a fairly unique opportunity for all the family members to get together all at the same time, people had travelled from across Essex and from as far away as Surrey.
There were 12 people in all, as well as three dogs who wanted to get in on the act.
I was recently involved in the organization of a children’s photographic competition. This was a competition aimed a key stage 2 children and was targeted at a number of local schools, in the Halstead area. The competition was jointly organized and supported by the Rotary Club of Halstead, the Halstead Gazette and me, Tony Sale Photography. The theme was ‘Community Spirit’ and entrants were required to submit photographic prints at a minimum size of 7” x5”.
The winner of the competition was Carys Thomas (aged 11) a pupil at St Margaret’s School in Gosfield.
