A selection of images from a recent family portrait siting – Rob, Suzie and Ollie from Matlock in Derbyshire.
Suzie & Rob primarily wanted some images of Ollie, their first child who was now a few months old. We started out doing some window light and natural light shots whilst Ollie was asleep and then moved on to do a number of portrait shots. I then persuaded Suzie and Rob to get involved as well.
The ones I have chosen to show here are some of the studio shots taken on a dark background. I’m a big fan of black / dark backgrounds I think portraits shot this way can look more engaging, and dynamic than those shot against a traditional white background (though I like those as well).
The image of Rob on his own is also on one of Pinterest boards and has probably been repined more than any of my other images.
These photos were actually taken quite a few months back and I have photographed Ollie since, I will feature some of those images in a later post.
