Vikki & Jim’s Cressing Temple Barn’s Wedding
OK so we are pretty much in the depth of winter at the moment, in fact last week I was out shooting some amazing scenes in the snow. But…! I wanted to show these images from a summer wedding I photographed a couple of years ago, August 2015 in fact. I want to blog them now because, firstly, I didn’t blog them back then, secondly, it’s really nice to look back to a warmer time when (it’s so cold outside) and thirdly, they were such a lovely couple I’m sure you will want to see their photos.
Victoria & James, or Vikki & Jim as they liked to be known, were married at Cressing Temple Barns which is located between Braintree & Witham in North Essex. Cressing Temple is of great interest for its unique buildings and gardens, in particular the Barley and Wheat Barns, built in the 13th century, which are among the oldest timber barn buildings left in the country.
The reception was held at the highly regarded ‘Barn Brasserie’ at Great Tey, (bit of a barn theme going on here!). I have eaten there a number of times and it really is top quality, a very attractive building too.
It was a beautiful sunny wedding, in fact one of the hottest days of the year, which was ideal for the outdoor ceremony held in the Tudor style walled garden. This was also an ideal location for post ceremony drinks, photographs, and an opportunity to enjoy a walk between the flower beds and stunning gardens.
The Bride & Groom both looked amazing on their wedding day and looking back at the images now instantly reminds me of the closeness and love for each other that they clearly shared. It was a joy to photograph their wedding and I wish them good luck, good fortune and a long and happy life together.
