Nikki & Tim’s, St Michael & All Angels Church Wedding.
Nicola & Tim got married in the summer of 2014 at St Michael & All Angels Church in Copford followed by a wedding reception at the Marks Tey Hotel.
It was interesting (for me anyhow) how I came to meet Nikki and Tim and to photograph their wedding. Some months previously I had been in HSBC bank in Halstead and whilst at the counter I overheard Nicola, at the next counter, telling the cashier about her wedding plans. As we left the bank about the same time I took a moment to introduce myself to Nikki, to say hello and explain that I was a wedding photographer, Nikki had not booked a photographer at that time and seemed very interested, we subsequently arranged a time to get together with her fiancé Tim and her mum, they were very impressed with my portfolio; I’m pleased to say, and immediately booked me for their big day.
We did get together prior to the wedding for a pre wedding photo shoot, which gave us a wonderful opportunity to spend some time together and get to know each other better. It also helped both Nikki and Tim to feel more relaxed and natural in front of the camera.
It was also nice that Nikki bought her wedding dress from ‘Nell’Amore’ a bridal wear shop in Halstead, the owner there; Lauren is amazing and extremely helpful. In fact the photographs of Nikki’s dress and shoes etc. were all taken there a few days before the wedding.
On the day of the wedding itself I met up with Tim, together with his dad and his best man Robert outside the church. I have say that as an experienced wedding photographer it’s always a pleasure to photograph weddings at venues that are a little out of the ordinary and this was certainly was. St Michael & All Angels Church is absolutely beautiful but what is perhaps most remarkable are the Norman wall paintings inside, in fact if you would like to read a bit more about it you can do so here, ‘St Michael & All Angels Church’.
Nikki arrived in style with her bridesmaid in an old restored camper van, her dress was beautiful and as you can see in the photos she looked stunning.
After the ceremony we spent some time taking photographs in the grounds of the church and on the cricket field nearby, before leaving for the Marks Tey Hotel.
Nikki & Tim and all the guests (and me) had a most enjoyable time at the wedding breakfast / reception. Delicious food, sweets, cakes, drinks, chocolate fountains, speeches, cutting of the cake, first dance and time to relax, chat and play. As the skies grew dark there was yet one more amazing treat in store as the everyone went out on to the roof to release flaming lanterns in to the romantic night sky.
Nikki & Tim are an amazing couple and I wish them a long and happy married life together.
