Katrina and Mark’s Halstead Wedding.

“To get the full value of joy you must have someone to divide it with.” – Mark Twain”

Mark and Katrina are such a likeable down to earth couple, straight talking and genuine. I joked with Katrina that she had the same name as a hurricane and although not destructive she certainly left her impact wherever she went, a trail of smiles and laughter!  I have not had too many brides who drink beer from a bottle at the wedding breakfast, but it’s her day and her way, that’s who she is and I loved her for it.

Mark too is from the same mould and seemed most relaxed with a fag and a beer in his hand. What a nice surprise it was when they very kindly invited my assistant, Rachael, and I to join them at the wedding breakfast,  we had places set out for us and had a great time chatting to Mark’s sister and her family – taking time out to capture some photographs of course.

Halstead Wedding

Living in nearby Gosfield it’s always a pleasure for me to photograph weddings in Halstead. It’s an area I know well and The Bull Hotel is a great venue, with good beer too.

Halstead also has magnificent public gardens with a traditional band stand a green and beautiful flower beds and so of course it was a natural location to take Katrina and Mark for some early evening photos. I have to say it did take a little planning though, the gardens are usually locked around 7.00 pm however I rang the park keeper a few days beforehand and he very kindly agreed to keep them open a while longer, so – many thanks Jason.
