Holly and Chris’s Winter Wedding at Parklands Quendon Hall

 

Winter Wedding / Christmas Wedding

There really is something very special about photographing wedding during the winter months and especially during the Christmas period. There is something magical about Christmas trees, colourful decorations and roaring fires. I just love photographing weddings at this time of year.

I’m sure you will have seen photos of Holly and Chris before, I did a pre wedding photo shoot with them some months ago, at their home in rural Hertfordshire. We captured some beautiful images as we walked around their garden and the adjoining ancient woods.

 

They are such a wonderful couple and you can just tell by the way they look at each other and tease each other that they are so deeply in love. They actually met at work some years ago, they were both communications officers working for Essex Police in Braintree. I think it may have been during their deep and meaningful conversations on night shifts that their romance began to blossom. (or so I’m told anyway!)

I’m not sure when exactly but I know they both left the police service and went to live for a number of years in New Zealand, where Holly, amongst other things developed a very keen interest in photography.

 

 

 

They chose an absolutely wonderful venue for their wedding, Parklands, Quendon Hall a 17^th century mansion situated on the Essex / Hertfordshire border, very close to the Essex town of Saffron Walden.

It was here that I met them on the morning of the wedding day. I started off photographing Holly together with her mum and bridesmaids Karen and Julie, before going on to see Chris together with his best man (and brother) Andrew, his groomsman Vincent and pageboy Harrison as well as the two dads. (Holly’s dad and Chris’s dad)

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I stayed with them and photographed the wedding for the whole day right up to the first dance and it truly was a wonderful experience. I should add that all of the table decorations and flower arrangements were designed and made by Holly and together with the Christmas tree, the decorations and lights it really did make for a very special atmosphere and memorable day. It was a pleasure to share it with them and to provide the photographs that they may treasure forever.
