Tasha & Karim’s Wedding at The Thames Motor Yacht Club.

Ok I have to say upfront this was one of my all-time favourite weddings to photograph. It was also one where I felt a bit more under pressure to do a fantastic job, the reason? Tasha (Natasha) is my Goddaughter and her parents Kev & Julie are very good friends. In fact Kev and I have known each other for over thirty five years having served together in the Royal Air Force. There always seems to be more pressure for some reason when I photograph a wedding of family and friends or else that of another photographer.

Pre wedding Photo Shoot

Tasha & Karim live in West Mosley in Surrey and I had been over to see them a couple of months previously to do a pre wedding photo shoot and to discuss their preferred wedding photography package. This was also an opportunity to get to know Karim a little better as I had only met him on one previous occasion. I had a brilliant afternoon with Tasha & Karim and their two sons Harrison and Logan, who were also to be page boys. We had a nice walk along the river bank and captured some nice shots.

On the day of the wedding we (my assistant and I) arrived nice and early to meet Tasha together with the girls getting ready at the rather plush Carlton Mitre Hotel.

 St Peter’s Church Hersham

We then headed off to St Peter’s Church in Hersham to photograph the boys, who were perhaps a little more nervous, as is often the case.

The church is very impressive inside as you can see in the photographs and the wedding ceremony was beautiful.

Following the ceremony we all headed off to the Thames Motor Yacht Club, which is opposite Hampton Court Palace, for the reception. It was an absolutely glorious day and very civilised enjoying drinks and canapés on the banks of the Thames.

Karim’s family are of Lebanese Origin and the wedding breakfast consisted  mainly of Lebanese vegitarian food. We were lucky enough to be invited to sit and eat with the guests and I have to say the food was delicious.

Dance The Night Away! The whole day was very much a family occasion with people having travelled from far and wide, including Julie’s sister (Tasha’s aunt) Nancy who had travelled from New Zealand. It was a wonderful opportunity for me to see and catch up with people I had not seen for many years.

I was very proud of Tasha, she looked amazing in her wedding dress, she has married a really nice guy and has two wonderful (if also a little bit cheeky) sons.

I wish them all the happiness in the world for many years to come.
