Tanya & Gareth’s Wedding at Baddow Park.
Nulli Secundus (Second to None)
They say absence makes the heart grow fonder and I think that is definitely the case with Tanya & Gareth. Gareth is a soldier serving with the Coldstream Guards, when they first came to see me to enquire about wedding photography they had to wait for a convenient time when Gareth was at home on leave before they could do so. I could see then that they were very loving and had a strong bond between them a bond that had been tested by a number of abscesses and one which would be tested again as Gareth was being posted out again before the wedding.
The wedding was held at Baddow Park and this was one of the first weddings I had photographed there. It is an amazing wedding venue a beautiful old house which still remains the home of the owner Annie. Annie and all of the staff are pretty wonderful people, they could not have been more obliging and helpful.
Tanya had arrived early and was upstairs getting ready with her bridesmaids, Emma, Lauren, Mollie and Hayley. She was really chilled and they were all enjoying their time helping each other in their preparations.
Meanwhile Gareth feeling a little nervous, was downstairs with his entourage, Sean, David, Connor and Daniel, with lots of friendly banter going on. That was the perfect time to get them all outside for some portraits and fun shots.
Gareth looked very splendid in his best dress uniform his red jacket very bold alongside Tanya’s gorgeous wedding dress. They really did make a very pretty picture, like something out of a period novel or a grand old painting.
In the weeks leading up to the wedding we had been having lots of heavy rainfall, so bad that the marquee had to be moved from its usual spot on the lawn to a position in front of the house. However on the day of the wedding itself it was absolutely glorious and the sun was shining down on everyone. I even managed to capture some wonderful photographs of the Tanya and Gareth against an amazing sunset.
I know Gareth’s regiment were moving out again very shortly after the wedding, quite where they went or where they are now I don’t know, but wherever it is I wish them both a long and happy life together.
