Some beautiful photographs from the wedding of Helen & Lee at St Mary’s Church Bocking near Braintree Essex on Remembrance Sunday 11.11.2011.
As I said a few posts back I am currently catching up with my blog and posting a selection of weddings / events that took place some months ago.
This is one of those weddings that are definitely worth a mention, the wedding of Helen and Lee back on the 11th November last year, the 11.11.11. Which of course also happened to be Remembrance Sunday. What was quite challenging for me was that the wedding ceremony was planned for 4.30 in the afternoon, which meant that it was practically dark and in fact there was hardly any day light left at all.
I started the afternoon by Photographing Helen getting ready at her God parents house in nearby Braintree. I took some nice photographs of her reflection in the mirror, some shots of her flowers and dress and also photographs of her incredible shinny red shoes – I have never seen wedding shoes like them before – they were amazing (though I’m not sure they were too comfortable!)
They got married at St Mary’s Church in Bocking, which is a beautiful old church and it’s here that I met up with Lee, his best man and ushers to take some fun shots and wedding portraits. The guys looked impeccable wearing their smart wedding suits with matching red cravats and hankies and also their red Remembrance Day Poppies.
Helen arrived at the church in a Rolls Royce wedding car and she looked absolutely fantastic – stunning in fact, in her wedding dress. After a short discussion with the vicar outside she was led in to the church for the start of the wedding ceremony. As you will see from some of the photographs St Mary’s is a fantastic old church, very grand, very beautiful.
Following the wedding ceremony, the bride and groom mingled with guests and posed for photographs outside the church. They were then driven slowly through the village, followed by the guests, to Bocking Village Hall where they held the wedding reception.
Helen and Lee were a dream to work with and throughout the day we got some beautiful photographs. I particularly like the low light shots taken in the church, the photos taken in the Rolls Royce, the romantic portraits taken at the reception and of course the game of snooker!
A selection of some of my favourite images from the day can be seen below. Please do leave a comment if you can.
