Bruges at Night My wife, Kate, and I went to Bruges to celebrate our 25th weddings anniversary, it was the first time we had ever been there and we thought it was beautiful. Bruges is situated in the Flemish
Wow! What a great evening it was photographing Liz and Ollie on their pre wedding photo shoot, they are such a cool couple.
Liz and Ollie come from Ipswich in Suffolk so when we first met up to discuss their wedding photography we met up at a pub in Colchester mid-way between our two homes. In fact we met at Balkerne Gate (once I found it) – nice pub!
Caitlyn and Ashley live in the lovely town of Braintree here in North Essex, however Ashley works in the delightful nearby village of Gosfield and it’s here that we decided to do our pre wedding photo shoot. If you follow my blog then you will know I always speak highly of Gosfield, and if you follow my blog then you will also know the reason why – it’s because I live here!
Gosfield has so many great features and makes an ideal location for a pre wedding photo shoot.
I love photographing portraits whether it is in the studio, at client’s homes or else lifestyle portraits outside or on location. This particular session was photographed in my home studio.
I was contacted by Natalie, who lives in earls Colne, a few weeks previously, saying that she wanted some portraits taken of her mum, her sister, her daughter and herself and she wanted a mixture with some shots of them all together and some taken individually.
I love photographing flowers, either growing wild, or growing in formal gardens or informal gardens or even occasionally photographing them in the studio. In fact you may have seen my post a few weeks back of some daffodils which were photographed in my studio, have a look now if you didn’t see them.
This year we had some beautiful pink roses growing in our garden at home and I decided to pick a few and give then the studio treatment.
In July last year I was lucky enough to photograph the suffolk wedding of Jade and Dave at Holly Trinity Church and the Bull Hotel in Long Melford. It was a beautiful wedding but what was also so special for me was that Dave’s step dad is a photographer; and it was a great compliment to me to be asked to photograph it.
Well what was equally a great honour was that a few months later Trevor himself decided to get married to his lovely partner Jane and again they asked me
‘With over 25 years of bespoke wedding services, Stock Brook Country Club has long been established as the premiere wedding venue in Essex’ Well that’s what it says on their web site anyway and I have absolutely no reason to disbelieve it.
I have to say Stock Brook Manor is an excellent wedding venue, it’s set in over 250 acres of English countryside on the outskirts of the picturesque village of Stock in central Essex and It’s here that I photographed the wedding of Jane and Ben some few weeks ago.
A few weeks back I was contacted by Sharon who happens to live in the same village as me, Gosfield in north Essex, she wanted some portrait photographs of her and her two teenage daughters. She wanted them to give
I recently photographed the wedding of Jade and Dave in the charming village of Long Melford in Suffolk. Jade and David who live in the nearby village of Glemsford were married in Holy Trinity Church followed by a reception at the Bull Hotel. Both wonderful historic buildings and both fantastic for beautiful wedding photography.
Long Melford, is so called because the main street is some two and a half miles long. It’s a beautiful and busy village which has thrived since Tudor times
Halstead Public gardens set in rural North Essex is an excellent location for a pre wedding photo shoot. It is a truly beautiful public gardens with lots of colourful flower beds, magnificent specimen trees, traditional wooden benches a picturesque pond and a band stand.
I met up there with Joy and Sam one Saturday morning a few weeks ago to do a pre wedding photo shoot, this was a great opportunity for the three of us to get to know each other before their wedding
It was my privilege back on the 29th April to photograph the wedding of Gaynor and Tony at Prested Hall near Kelvedon in Essex. As I’m sure most of you remember this was also a special day for another wedding as well – of course I’m referring to the Royal Wedding of William and Kate at Westminster Abbey. (As I had already agreed to photograph Gaynor and Tony’s wedding I unfortunately had to let Will’s and Kate down! But I think they managed to find someone else!).
In my previous post I exhibited some of the photographs taken during Gemma and Joe’s wedding in St Andrews church in Halstead Essex. Well two days prior to the wedding they had a rehearsal in the same church around 6.30 in the evening. At this time it was dark outside and there was little light inside the church so I used this opportunity to practice some very low light photography and used what little light there was to produce some dramatic and artistic images.
