If you follow my blog on a regular basis then you will know that I have not posted now for a few months. Apologies things have been pretty hectic and I have fallen a bit behind. Catching up now though and it’s my plan to get up to date over the next few weeks and tell you about all the weddings, pre wedding, portrait and other interesting photographic shoots I have been up to.
I’m going to start by telling you about a wonderful couple, Holly and Chris.
Holly and Chris live in a beautiful very quaint very old cottage in rural Hertfordshire. Although it’s reasonably close to the A10 the cottage is in a pretty remote area and is surrounded by ancient woodland and I mean surrounded, there is a stream and lots of trees right at the bottom of their garden. It’s almost magical like something out of a movie.
It was here that I met up with them one wet and windy morning a few months ago to do their pre wedding photo shoot. This was a great opportunity for the three of us to get to know each other before their wedding which was to be at ‘Parklands’ Quendon Hall near Saffron Walden later in the year. Although it had been raining it did stop for a while and we managed to enjoy the wonderful autumn day. The leaves on the trees and on the ground were golden brown and all around was peaceful and calm.
Holly and Chris are a great couple, very open very friendly and both very relaxed and confident in front of the camera. We managed to photograph in a number of different locations and included some on their newly acquired garden bench (which I thought looked like a wheelchair from side on – see what you think) and some on a very picturesque old bridge which crosses the stream in their garden. They both said they had fully enjoyed the shoot and were very much looking forward to seeing the photos. I was looking forward to photographing their wedding later in the year.
A selection of some of my favourite images from the day can be seen below. Please do leave a comment if you can.
